Lilo, whose name quit literally means lost in Hawaiian, is a young girl who is a social outcast to everyone around her. Straying heavily from the classic stereotype of what little girls should be all about, Lilo seems to make everyone around her just a little uncomfortable and, as Nani (her old sister) once said, "they just don't know what to say".

Personally, I think that Lilo is exactly what every little girl should be. She has been through a tough situation and the movie does an excellent job on portraying that to the audience. And yet she tries not to let it affect her day to day life style. She's imaginative to the point where it takes over practically her entire way of thinking and you could easily say that she truly believes in everything she encounters, no matter how strange or misplaced it may seem to the rest of the world. To Lilo, it would just be another fascinating quality about life and she would take it in stride.

She's also no the perfect human being. She tries her best but she does screw things up or bad things happen to her even when she tries her best. However, she never fails to manage to get back up on her feet and keep on moving forward. She may not know what the end result should be but she knows the difference between right and wrong and she is quite willing to stick up for that.

Due to tragedy or maybe it was so before hand, Lilo's family seems to be less fortunate in the way of money and so Lilo seems to have grown up without having some of the material goods most children have. However, she has adapted and found out different ways to entertain her young mind which is probably where her strange behavior stems from. She has to make her own toys which is actually where Scrump, the plushie featured in this layout, came from.

So, in conclusion, Lilo is a resourceful soul whose mind and heart are loyal but free spirited. She doesn't flinch at life or try her best to get away from the unknown. Instead, she thrives and enjoys every minute and it is this exact nature that I wish more little girls (and adults) would take as an example.
